Naxalbari, 27th May: In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics, police arrested a drug peddler with 90 grams of brown sugar in the Shantinagar area of Naxalbari. The accused, identified as Sudip Roy (29), a resident of Shantinagar, was apprehended while entering a house with the illegal substance.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid and intercepted Sudip Roy. Upon searching his motorcycle, they recovered the brown sugar and immediately took him into custody. The bike used in the incident was also seized.
Police sources revealed that the accused has direct links to three drug dealers who were recently arrested at Tukaria More. Following his arrest, Sudip Roy was produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Tuesday. The investigation into the case is currently underway.
