Siliguri, 21st December: Siliguri Metropolitan Police is getting back to back success under the campaign ‘Say No to Drugs’. In this regard, last night, the police of Kalimpong police station, in collaboration with Pradhan Nagar police station, arrested a young man with intoxicating tablets, banned cough syrup by conducting a campaign in Champasari market.
The arrested youth has been identified as Bikas Biswakarma. The Kalimpong police arrested the accused Bikas and took him in their custody. As per the sources revealed, on December 17, the police of Kalimpong police station had arrested two drug smugglers when both were interrogated on police remand, the police came to know that drugs were being brought from Siliguri and sold in Kalimpong. After which the cops, with the help of Pradhan Nagar police station, reached Champasari market posing as buyers and arrested the drug supplier.
Around 1,000 intoxicating tablets, banned cough syrup, a scooty have been seized from the accused. After this, accused Bikas Biswakarma was arrested after registering a case under the NDPS Act and taken to Kalimpong.
