Siliguri, 22nd January: To tackle traffic congestion and ensure smoother traffic movement, the Traffic Department of Siliguri Metropolitan Police has deployed drones for aerial monitoring. Key junctions including Darjeeling More, Venus More, Sevoke More, and Panitanki More are being closely observed through drone surveillance.
The drone footage is being analyzed to identify areas requiring improvements, adjustments, or reinforcement in traffic management.
DCP (Traffic) Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed stated that drone monitoring is helping the department address traffic issues more effectively. On Wednesday, drones were used at Darjeeling More to identify problem areas, and solutions are already being implemented.
Following the same approach, on Thursday surveillance was carried out at Venus More, Hospital More, Court More, Panitanki More, and other major routes to monitor traffic movement and address bottlenecks.
