Dooars forest to reopen tomorrow after a three-month closure

Dooars, 15th September: After a three-month closure, the forest of Dooars will open to tourists starting tomorrow. Tourism operators are eager to welcome visitors back.

Reportedly, one of the major attractions in Dooars is the Jaldapara Forest, renowned for its elephant safaris. This year, there will be an increase in the number of elephants available for safari rides. While elephant safaris were previously conducted primarily from the Holong area, this year, they will also start from Salkumar in Jaldapara.

The District Forest Officer (DFO) of Jaldapara announced that two elephants will be stationed in Salkumar for safaris. The news of safaris starting from the Salkumar gate has thrilled local tourism.
