Doctors of NBMCH hold protest rally in Siliguri over RG Kar Hospital incident

Siliguri, 13th August: In response to the nationwide uproar over the alleged rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, doctors across West Bengal have launched strikes and protests.


On Tuesday, doctors from North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) organized a protest rally in Siliguri, demanding justice for the victim and enhanced security for medical professionals.

The rally took place in the vicinity of the medical college, with a significant number of NBMCH doctors participating. The protesting doctors called for a thorough investigation into the RG Kar Hospital incident, the arrest of all involved culprits, and stringent punishment for the accused.


In addition to these demands, the doctors urged the government to implement stronger safety measures for medical professionals in hospitals and medical colleges across the state.

It is to be noted that the junior doctors at NBMCH went on strike and staged a sit-in demonstration in front of the emergency department on Monday.
