Siliguri, 03rd December: In a move that has stirred controversy, Dr. Shekhar Bandyopadhyay, an ENT specialist in Siliguri, has issued a stern message for patients from Bangladesh. Patients are asked to bow down before the national flag outside his clinic before entering his chamber. Patients from Bangladesh who refuse to do so will be denied medical treatment and forbidden from entering his clinic.
Dr. Bandyopadhyay’s statement comes in the wake of reported incidents in Bangladesh where the Indian national flag was allegedly disrespected. As a result, the doctor emphasized that such actions tarnish the dignity of the Indian national flag. Several medical institutions and professionals across the country have also begun restricting medical services to patients from Bangladesh as a form of protest against what they see as an affront to the national flag.
However, Dr. Bandyopadhyay clarified that while he is deeply hurt by the disrespect shown towards India’s flag, he will not deny medical services to any patient. In a slightly different approach to the protest, Dr. Bandyopadhyay put up a national flag outside his clinic with a message asking the patients to bow in front of the flag to show respect. If patients from Bangladesh refuse to do so, they will be denied medical services and prohibited from entering his chamber.
