Siliguri, 29th December: The Natya Mela, organized at Dinabandhu Mancha for the past 19 years, has been postponed this time due to various problems.
During a press conference on Tuesday, the Siliguri Natya Mela Committee informed that there are some technical malfunctions in lights and stage equipment as no cultural programmes had been organized ever since the lockdown was imposed. They stated that although Natya Mela commenced in Kolkata, it is not possible to organize in Siliguri’s Dinabandhu Mancha.
Reportedly, the 20th Natya Mela in 2021 is scheduled to start from August 01 instead of January. However, the members of the Natya Mela committee will inspect Dinabandhu Mancha tomorrow and will discuss all issues with the authorities.
