Dilemma over Mrigank’s death continues, accused produced in court

Siliguri, 12th September: The dilemma over the cause of the death of 23-year-old youth Mrigank Chowdhury continues. Following his tragic death, his friends and well-wishers expressed their condolences on his social media. It was also revealed that Mrigank’s childhood dream was to become a guitarist and he fancied taking pictures.


It has to be noted that, on Saturday, Mrigank drowned in Teesta Canal in Fulbari. Later, on Monday, after a prolonged rescue operation, his body was recovered. Following this, Mrigank’s family alleged murder and filed a complaint at the NJP police station. Subsequently, Mrigank’s friend Swapnanil Nandi, who accompanied him to the canal, was arrested by the police.

After the recovery of the deceased’s body, a post-mortem examination was conducted. In this regard, the family of the deceased claimed that there were injury marks on Mrigank’s body. Meanwhile, an investigation was initiated by the police to uncover any possible secrets behind the incident, and the accused was interrogated.


As per reports, on Tuesday, accused Swapnanil was produced before the Jalpaiguri court and is likely to be taken into police custody for further interrogation.
