Dilapidated road in Fulbari’s Sipahi Para sparks outrage among parents of school students

Fulbari, 04th July: Residents of Sipahi Para in Fulbari are outraged over the dilapidated condition of the roads in their locality, especially during the monsoon season. The small pits transform into massive potholes after rainfall causing major concern among the local commuters and students. As a result, the parents of the students have joined in a road blockade demanding road reform.

According to reports, the road stretch from the canal road of Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat to the Bhalobasha More adjacent to Siliguri had been in a deplorable state for a prolonged period. Local residents and concerned parents of the school students travelling through that road staged a demonstration by standing on the accumulated water during the rain on Thursday.

In this regard, concerned parents, including Koyel Majumder and Gargi Roy Chowdhury, stated that the road has been neglected for an extended period. The accumulation of rainwater in the potholes has worsened the situation. They further expressed that many children are developing skin problems due to exposure to the dirty water thus demanding immediate road repair.
