Jalpaiguri, 17th June: At least 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a clash with Chinese troops at the Galwan Valley in Ladakh. Condemning the incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party organized a Dhikkar Rally in Jalpaiguri.
A scuffle broke out between the BJP activists and the Jalpaiguri Kotwali police after the police intervened and tried to stop the rally. During the rally, several activists, including BJP President Bapi Goswami, were detained by the police.
