Siliguri, 08th July: Unable to bear the loss of his mother, 35-year-old Jayanta Lahiri committed suicide by hanging himself. The incident surfaced from the Madhya Shantinagar area of Siliguri.
As per the information, Jayanta used to live with his ailing mother and used to look after her. The matter came to light after the locals entered Jayanta’s house this afternoon and found him hanging from the noose while his mother’s body was lying on the bed.
It has been assumed that Jayanta’s mother might have passed away yesterday or today. Following which, Jayanta hanged himself to death. The incident was immediately reported at the Ashighar outpost.
The police arrived shortly after, recovered the bodies, and sent them to North Bengal Medical College Hospital. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
