Siliguri, 01st August: The Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) in its preparedness to tackle the prevalence of dengue organized an awareness rally on Tuesday. It is to be noted, the city witnessed a high number of dengue cases last year, prompting the SMC to take proactive measures to control the virus’s spread this year.
The awareness rally took place in the jurisdiction of the No. 2 Borough Committee of the SMC. During the march, insecticide spraying was conducted in various areas, alongside efforts to raise awareness among the citizens. The event saw the presence of important dignitaries such as SMC’s Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Member of Mayor-Council (MMIC) Manik Dey, Dulal Dutta, Ward No. 12 Councilor Basudeb Ghosh, and several other officials.
