Naxalbari, 10th February: A deer was rescued by locals after it wandered out of the Kalabari forest into a residential area in Naxalbari. The animal was found in the Hathighisa Huchaimallick Zone.
The local residents promptly informed the forest department after rescuing the deer. A team from the Bagdogra Forest Department arrived at the scene and took the deer into their care.
Bagdogra Forest Ranger Sonam Bhutia confirmed that the deer had no injuries but was visibly frightened. Following a health check-up, the deer will be released back into the deep forest.
