Siliguri, 28th July: The Decorators Association of North Bengal organized a one-day, day-and-night knockout football tournament on July 28. The event was held at the Tileswari Adhikari High School grounds in Siliguri.
The tournament was inaugurated by Mayor Gautam Deb of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The competition witnessed the active participation of 16 teams.
Gopal Sarkar, General Secretary of the Decorators Association of North Bengal, stated that the tournament has been held for the past 19 years and has been hosted at the Tileshwari School ground over the past few years. Sarkar emphasized that alongside their business activities, the association is committed to social responsibilities, which is why they continue to organize such events.
The tournament features several prizes, including the Sudhir Chandra Das Memorial Winners’ Award of Rs 50,000, the Swapna Das Memorial Runners-up Award of Rs 30,000, and the Geeta Rani Das Fair Play Trophy worth Rs 5,000.
