Rajganj, 30th May: A decomposed body was recovered from a sack near Nayanjuli on the Ambari-Belakoba state highway in the Sudamgach area of Rajganj block on Friday afternoon, triggering panic in the locality.
According to local sources, a woman from the area noticed a sack emitting a strong stench while by the roadside. Growing suspicious, she opened it with a stick and discovered a decomposed human body inside. The incident quickly drew a crowd.
The matter was reported to Bhorer Alo Police Station. Police reached the scene shortly thereafter, recovered the body wrapped in the sack, and sent it for post-mortem.
Preliminary reports indicate that the deceased is a male and the body appears to have decomposed over an extended period. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the identity of the deceased and how the body ended up there.
