Siliguri, 25th November: The 12th death anniversary of Bikash Ghosh (Siliguri’s first Mayor and founder of Siliguri Football Academy) was observed at Siliguri’s Kanchenjunga Stadium following all safety measures. The Chairman of Board of Administrators at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, Ashok Bhattacharya, paid tribute to him by laying flowers at his portrait.
Bhattacharya said that the progress in the field of sports in the city has slowed down in the past few years. He further stated that the stadium needs to be modified to help fulfil the dreams of the late mayor.
