Siliguri, 20th February: The city’s safai workers are on a strike demanding job permanency and pay hike. Due to the strike, the city’s cleanliness work has been discontinued and the common people are facing trouble due to the stench from the untended garbages.
Hence, the left leaders took to the streets today to clean the city. On Saturday, Sharadindu Chakraborty, a member of the BoA at SMC, and Dipayan Roy, co-ordinator of Ward No. 26 was sighted cleaning the streets with brooms, spades, and shovels.
