Siliguri, 12th October: “Darjeeling was and will remain the crown of Bengal, a permanent solution to the hills does not mean Gorkhaland,” said MP Locket Chatterjee during a press conference at Siliguri’s Jaymani Bhawan.
It is to be noted that with the forthcoming assembly elections ahead, the demand for a permanent solution to the hill has been raised once again. BJP has also promised a permanent solution to the hill several times.
Chatterjee further said that a permanent solution to the hill does not mean a separate state of Gorkhaland. The people of Bengal are united and will remain united. Darjeeling was and will remain the crown of Bengal. He added that BJP, unlike TMC, does not politicize race and language.
