Siliguri, 19th August: Protesting against Manipur violence, the Darjeeling Trinamool Mahila Congress staged a march on Saturday. The rally commenced at Khudiram Bose’s statue in Mallaguri, marched along Hill Cart Road, and concluded at Darjeeling More where they lit black candles.
Party leaders, including State President of Trinamool Mahila Congress Chandrima Bhattacharya, President of Darjeeling District TMC Papiya Ghosh and President of Darjeeling District Trinamool Mahila Congress Milli Sinha, accompanied by party members, participated in the rally.
In the wake of the events in Manipur, Chandrima Bhattacharya raised questions about the absence of response from the Prime Minister. In a fervent plea for justice, she called for stringent punishment for the perpetrators responsible for the violence.
