Darjeeling MP Raju Bista visits Indo-Bangladesh border in Chopra to support BSF jawans amid political disturbances

Chopra, 10th January: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista visited the Indo-Bangladesh Border Outpost (132 BN, BOP Karzigacch) in Chopra Block, Uttar Dinajpur District, to show solidarity with Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. The visit came amid political unrest in Bangladesh and ongoing border skirmishes.

Bista praised the BSF for their dedication to safeguarding the nation under difficult conditions, calling them the ‘first line of defense’ and commending their professionalism.

He criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders for allegedly supporting illegal infiltrators. Bista questioned the state government’s efforts to prevent the misuse of state machinery for such activities.

‘The TMC may oppose the BSF for political motives, but the people of West Bengal firmly support our jawans,’ he said, citing recent backing from residents of Sukdebpur in Malda.

Bista reaffirmed the importance of the security forces’ commitment and promised continued support for their efforts in ensuring the nation’s safety.
