Bagdogra, 11th September: As part of the “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” initiative, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista visited the family members of Martyr Naik Subash Thapa from 3/5 Gorkha Rifles in Upper Bagdogra and Rfn Sanjay Oraon from 107 Territorial Army 11 Gorkha Rifles at Kamalpur Tea Estate near Panighatta More, within the Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency.
During the visit, homage was paid to these brave individuals who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation. The soil from their homes and villages was also collected as part of the “Meri Maati, Mera Desh” initiative envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This initiative allows people to express their love for the nation, freedom fighters, soldiers, and their families. It serves as an inspiration for national unity, fostering pride in the welfare of the people and respect for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the motherland.
The soil collected from the residences and villages of Martyrs Naik Subash Thapa and Rfn Sanjay Oraon will be placed in “Amrit Vatika” in New Delhi, symbolizing their contribution to the nation. MP Raju Bista was accompanied by Siliguri BJP President Arun Mandal, BJYM Siliguri President Arijit Das, and other BJP and BJYM District Leaders and workers during this solemn tribute. Their sacrifices remind us of the invaluable contributions made by the bravehearts to safeguard the nation.
