Darjeeling Mary Ward Social Centre commemorates World Anti-Human Trafficking Day

Kharibari, 28th July: To mark World Human Trafficking Day, the Darjeeling Mary Ward Social Centre observed World Anti-Human Trafficking Day on Friday at the Sabuj Sangh Club in Kharibari. Notably, the Kharibari Block Development Office (BDO) organized a cultural program on this occasion, including a rally, to raise awareness about the grave issue.


The event saw the participation of members from Kanchenjunga Rescue Centre, and its primary aim was to spread awareness among the public, emphasizing the prevention of human trafficking, especially concerning women and children in society. Kaushik Roy Chowdhury, the coordinator of the organization, expressed the objective of the awareness camp to combat human trafficking and highlighted ongoing efforts to address the misuse and abuse of technology in this context.
