Siliguri, 28th August: After incessant downpour, several wards of Siliguri have been submerged under rainwater. In view of this, Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress President Papia Ghosh took stock of South Ambedkar Colony under Ward No. 01 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Siliguri Town 01 Trinamool Congress President Pradeep Goyal and party leaders and workers were also present.
Locals complained that most areas of South Ambedkar Colony get submerged under rainwater and water from the Mahananda River enters several residences every rainy season. Papia Ghosh inspected the area and assured to make arrangements for the removal of water from the Municipal Corporation at the earliest. She said that the matter has also been informed to the SDO.
