Darjeeling, 06th May: Darjeeling district, including Siliguri municipal area and parts of Jalpaiguri, recorded alarming 693 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the information received, 196 COVID-19 cases have been reported from Siliguri municipal area, 16 from Darjeeling municipality, 45 from Sukna, 28 from Kurseong municipality, 27 from Mirik, 14 from Bijanbari, 04 from Sukhia Pokhari, 02 Takdah, 30 Kharibari, 120 from Matigara, 141 from Naxalbari and 70 from Phansidewa. A total of 268 cases are from SMC including the Jalpaiguri portion.
208 cases have been recovered including home isolation patients (*this discharge figures don’t include discharge from private hospitals and defence establishment)
