Siliguri, 04th October: On Monday, transgenders were vaccinated under the management of Darjeeling District Legal Aid Forum and with the assistance of Block Medical of Head Rajganj and Unique Welfare Society.
It has been learned that the second dose of vaccine was given to 25 transgenders in the Bhabeshamoer area of Baribhasha.
Trans woman Maina Das said, “Most of us have been vaccinated. The remaining ones will hopefully get vaccinated before Durga Puja.”
Amit Sarkar, general secretary of the Darjeeling District Legal Aid Forum, said that the transgenders were vaccinated today. He asked the remaining ones to get vaccinated soon.
