Darjeeling District Congress protests at Siliguri Police Station over women’s safety issues

Siliguri, 19th October: The Darjeeling District Congress has gheraoed the Siliguri police station in response to a rising number of cases involving women’s harassment, rape, and murder in the state. The Congress party alleges that the police administration has failed to prevent these incidents, leading to a state-wide siege of police stations organized on Saturday.


The protest at the Siliguri police station was led by Shankar Malakar, President of the Darjeeling District Congress Committee.

In this regard, Malakar emphasized that women in the state are feeling unsafe and called for the police to take strict action against such anti-social activities. He stated that the police station siege program was organized to address these pressing concerns regarding women’s safety.
