Siliguri, 09th December: The residents of Dabgram handed over a memorandum to the Dabgram Ranger alleging corruption in the recruitment of the state’s forest assistant.
The locals alleged that several people applied for the said post. Young men and women of the locality were also given priority for the post as they have a lot of experience regarding forests. However, they claim the recruitment process was not conducted as per the rules.
Demanding locals to be appointed as forest assistants, the Dabgram residents warned of staging larger demonstrations in the future if their demands are not looked into.
