Naxalbari, 05th February: A tragic incident surfaced where an individual riding a bicycle lost his life after being hit by a bus while returning home from work. The deceased has been identified as Jugiya Munda, a resident of Hatighisa.
Reportedly, a passenger bus hit the cyclist while crossing the road on Asian Highway (AH) 2 near Kiran Chandra Tea Estate More in Naxalbari. The impact left the cycle rider severely injured.
Subsequently, the injured was rescued and rushed to Naxalbari Hospital where the attending doctor declared him dead. Sources revealed that the deceased body would be transported to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, after the accident, the driver of the bus surrendered at the Naxalbari police station. At present, the Naxalbari police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
