Siliguri, 09th February: In view of the increasing cases of cyber crime, a cyber awareness programme was organised in Siliguri to educate students about digital and online safety. The programme, titled Cyber Peace and Security Yatra, was initiated by the JITO Siliguri Ladies Wing in collaboration with the Cyber Police Station.
As part of the initiative, an awareness camp was held at Phanibhusan Secondary School in Milan Pally. During the programme, Cyber Police Station IC Samrat Mitra addressed the students and provided guidance on the safe use of mobile phones and social media platforms. He also explained various methods to protect oneself from cyber fraud and online scams.
Students were advised to avoid interacting with unknown individuals online, refrain from sharing personal information on social media, and ensure the use of screen locks and SIM locks on their mobile phones to enhance digital security.
The programme was attended by Cyber Police Station SI Arun Roy, JITO Siliguri Ladies Wing President Veena Baid, Chief Secretary Venus Baid, Deputy Secretary Monika Kundalia, Shweta Badhani, along with teachers of the school.
