Additionally, the Communist Party of Revolutionary Marxists (CPRM), one of the coalition parties, has also submitted nomination papers in Kurseong today. CPRM Secretary Arun Ghatani, who is a prominent member and leader of the coalition party, addressed journalists to provide insights into their candidate allocations.

Arun Ghatani confirmed that CPRM has submitted nomination papers for the coalition parties, including opposition parties like the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) and Trinamool Congress, in all the panchayat seats of the hills. He further stated that CPRM has also submitted nomination papers in various areas of Kurseong. Regarding the seat distribution between CPRM and BJP, as well as other coalition parties, he shared that they have mutually supported each other in certain seats while contesting independently in others.

Moreover, Arun Ghatani announced that he has completed the task of submitting the nomination papers to participate in the Panchayat Committee elections from the Sitong III Gram Panchayat under the Kurseong section. Addressing reporters, he emphasized that according to their alliance agreement, all alliance members are filing nomination papers. Later, they will collectively decide on candidate withdrawals and finalize the contestants for the elections.

Arun Ghatani appealed to the leaders of various political parties within the alliance, emphasizing the importance of unity. He stated that they should avoid competing against each other and understand the significant challenge they face. Their objective is to contest the elections against the state government and its coalition parties, as they believe the state government poses a serious threat to the interests of the Gorkha community. Hence, they named their alliance the “United Gorkha Alliance” to symbolize their collective strength and determination.
