Naxalbari, 25th October: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI(M) staged a sit-in protest in Naxalbari, advocating for five key demands. The protest was organized by the Naxalbari Area Committee in response to a call from the CPI(M) Darjeeling District Committee, taking place at Naxalbari Panighata More.
During the protest, CPI(M) members raised concerns regarding issues such as atrocities against women across the state, the need for exemplary punishment for rapists, opposition to the proposed one country, one election scheme, rising commodity prices, the problem of unemployment, and widespread corruption in panchayat work.
Notable figures present at the program included Bikash Chakraborty, Secretary of the Naxalbari Area Committee, and DYFI leader Raju Sarkar, among others.
