Naxalbari, 20th August: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) staged a protest march on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of the Chief Minister over the recent R.G. Kar incident.
According to reports, the march commenced from the CPIM’s Naxalbari party office and proceeded to Panighata More, where the protesters staged a road blockade on the state road.
In this regard, Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) leader Gautam Ghosh criticized the Chief Minister’s response, questioning who the government is trying to protect in connection to the brutal killing of a doctor. He emphasized that the organization will continue its protest until justice is served and that the movement called for the Chief Minister’s resignation.
