Naxalbari, 27th August: Members of the CPIM Naxalbari Area Committee visited the Naxalbari Hatighisa Gram Panchayat office on Friday and handed over a memorandum in support of various demands. The organization members also protested in front of the panchayat office.
Madhav Sarkar, secretary of CPIM’s Naxalbari Area Committee, said that women are being harassed while collecting forms for the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme. Camps and staff should be increased to stop such incidents. Besides, memorandums have been issued on several demands including the introduction of 100-days work as well as old age and widow allowance.
