CPIM leader Ashok Bhattacharya reach out to the homeless people in Ward No. 02 and 03

Siliguri, 06th December: After SMC’s campaign to free Mahananda river bank of encroachment in Ward No. 02 and 03, the atmosphere of politics has stirred up in Siliguri. Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh and leaders of different political parties highly condemned the incident and stepped up to provide aid to the locals.


Likewise, former MLA and CPIM leader Ashok Bhattacharya inspected the spot on Monday and interacted with the locals. He also demanded severe punishment and the expulsion of the SMC commissioner and engineer.

Incidentally, Siliguri Municipal Corporation, under the direction of the Green Tribunal, launched campaigns to free the Mahananda river embankment of encroachment in Ward No. 02 and 03 of Siliguri. As a result, many families have become homeless.
