Siliguri, 23rd December: Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) held a press conference in Siliguri in the presence of party leader Jibesh Sarkar, Saman Pathak, and others.
They said that the ward-to-ward campaign for the municipal polls is starting from today, while the names of the candidates will be announced soon.
Jibesh Sarkar said that the party wants to defeat BJP and Trinamool Congress in all 47 wards of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. He further said that if there is any attempt to loot votes in Siliguri, there will be a joint protest. He also said that the voting date has been announced. He demanded the TMC leaders of the BoA resign immediately.
On the other hand, Goutam Deb said,”We will definitely win. BJP is now a decaying party.”
