CPI(M) holds ‘Dhikkar’ rally over Chopra incident in Siliguri 

Siliguri, 15th June: CPI(M) activists stage a ‘Dhikkar’ rally in Siliguri to voice their concern against the Chopra incident. Reportedly, a person was killed and several others injured in a firing at the Left and Congress rally in Chopra while they were going to submit their nomination papers. Following the violence, the CPI (M) of Darjeeling District resorted to protest. 


Following this, a ‘Dhikkar’ rally was taken out from the CPI(M) party office at Hill Cart Road in Siliguri in which demonstrations were staged on the streets at Hashmi Chowk. CPI(M) leaders Jivesh Sarkar, Saman Pathak, and Ashok Bhattacharya were present in this demonstration. Saman Pathak, District Secretary of CPI(M), strongly condemned the incident. He further accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of attempting to eliminate the democratic rights of the people.
