Siliguri, 04th April: CPI(M) candidates in Siliguri filed their nomination papers with a strong show of strength through a massive rally.
Candidates Saradindu Chakraborty from Siliguri Assembly constituency and Jharen Roy from Matigara-Naxalbari constituency submitted their nomination papers on Saturday.
Ahead of the nominations, both candidates took out a large rally with drums and slogans, drawing a significant number of party workers and supporters, intensifying the election atmosphere in the city.
Senior CPI(M) leaders including Ashok Bhattacharya and Saman Pathak were also present and led the rally.
After filing his nomination, Saradindu Chakraborty said that he is receiving strong support and blessings from the people of the city and expressed confidence about winning the upcoming election.
