Siliguri, 08th November: The Communist Party Of India (Marxist) (CPIM) accused the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) of hiding information related to dengue. This comes following the death of a youth due to dengue in Siliguri.
As per reports, on Wednesday, the CPI (M)’s Area Committee No. III submitted a memorandum to the SMC Commissioner regarding the situation of dengue in the city. Through the memorandum, the party demanded information on the number of dengue-affected people in the ward and what measures have been implemented by the SMC in this regard.
In this regard, Munshi Nurul Islam accused the SMC of not giving importance to adverse consequences of dengue, in comparison to other matters. Consequently, the number of dengue cases is increasing in the city. Furthermore, he demanded the implementation of dengue control measures and claimed to resort to protest upon failure to address their demands.
