Mirik, 27th January: The mega vaccination drive, which has already kicked off across the country, was conducted at Mirik Block Primary Health Center, on Wednesday.
Dr Tashi Lama, BMOH of Mirik Block Primary Health Centre, informed that the health workers, Asha workers and Anganwadi workers of Mirik BPHC received the vaccine today. Lama said that the drive is being carried out as per the government’s target of vaccinating 100 people a day. Reportedly, 487 people will be vaccinated in the first phase.
On the other hand, more than 400 glasses were distributed free of cost at Mirik BPHC today under the ‘Chokher Alo’ programme. The state’s ‘Chokher Alo’ scheme ensures cataract operations for senior citizens and eye treatment for all for free.
Mirik Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Aswini Kumar Roy, Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector (DMDC) Mridul Srimani, Mirik Municipality Chairman LB Rai, Rogi Kalyan Samiti (Patient Welfare Committee) Chairman Anil Chhetri and others were present on the occasion.
