COVID-19 second wave: One-week complete lockdown imposed in Sikkim

Despite the rising cases of positive cases in the second wave of Corona, the central government has not imposed curfew or lockdown in the country yet. However, a few state governments have imposed self lockdown in their state.


Reportedly, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, on Friday. During the meeting, the CM of Sikkim has decided to implement a one-week lockdown at the entire state from May 17 to 24. Only milk-carrying vehicles, ambulances, and chemists will be allowed to function during the lockdown.
