Siliguri, 01st May: In view of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the region, the authorities of Bengal Safari Park have decided to indefinitely close the park for tourists from Sunday. The decision comes after the West Bengal government announced a partial lockdown all across the state, on Friday. Apparently, the park will remain closed until the State Secretariat’s second directory.
It is to be noted, the Bengal Safari Park remained closed for several months the previous year after the outbreak of the virus. While the decision was taken for everyone’s safety, the park suffered a massive loss due to the closure.
Badal Debnath, Director of Bengal Safari, said that he has received instructions from the state forest department to keep the park closed. The park will remain closed indefinitely from tomorrow (May 02).
