Siliguri, 19th August: So far, this year, people across the city haven’t been able to celebrate any festival collectively or in public owing to the coronavirus pandemic. Similarly, Ganesh Chaturthi which falls on August 22 will be low-key owing to the ongoing pandemic. While every year the day is celebrated across the city with much pomp and enthusiasm, the scenario is expected to be completely different this year.
Reportedly, the big-budget puja on behalf of the Bidhan Market Auto Stand will be organized in a small way, this year, following all the government’s guidelines. Besides, some pujas have also been cancelled and a very low number of idols were spotted in the idol shops.
