Siliguri, 22nd June: The Siliguri police arrested a couple on charges of running a sex racket. The accused couple has been identified as Surajit Mandal and Sonali Khatun Mandal. The duo is a resident of Burdwan and used to stay at a rented house in Siliguri.
According to police sources, the couple used to run a sex racket at the Bhaktinagar police station area. Later, they continued the business in the Rabindranagar area under Siliguri police station.
Police arrested the couple on the basis of a complaint lodged by a young woman from Murshidabad. The arrested accused was produced at Siliguri court today. On the other hand, the police are trying to help reach the accused girl to her house.
Siliguri Police has done good work by arresting such human trafficking rackets who run sex rackets in the city. Police should also search for such rackets in hotels and houses on rent in Pradhan Nagar, Gurung Busty, Champasari, etc as these places have nowadays become den of all kinds of crime like sex racket, gambling, illegal call centres.
