Siliguri, 03rd November: The sacred festival of Bhai Dooj, which celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, was observed with special significance this year after Diwali. Councilor Dilip Barman of Ward No. 46 celebrated Bhai Dooj by visiting the Apna Ghar Old Age Home in Matigara.
At the old age home, Councilor Barman celebrated the festival with the elderly women residing there. During the celebration, he also presented gifts to the residents.
Councilor Barman expressed that no festival is complete without the blessings of the elderly. He explained that this was the reason he chose to celebrate Bhai Dooj at the Apna Ghar Old Age Home. He noted that it had been a fulfilling experience to share the occasion with the elderly women.
