Siliguri, 19th March: The traders associated with the tourism industry are facing extreme losses during the coronavirus outbreak across the country. In such a situation, the Himalayan Hospitality Travel and Tourism Development Network has appealed to the Central and State governments to assist the leased hotel owners.
During a press conference at the Siliguri Journalists Club, on Thursday, the organization member Raj Basu stated that the tourism business in North Bengal and Sikkim is currently suffering due to the Coronavirus outbreak. He stated that almost everyone is undergoing a financial crisis. Traders are facing a loss of Rs 11 crores, every day.
The tourism traders have already reported the matter to the State Chief Minister and the Prime Minister.
