Tamil Nadu reported its first death due to COVID-19 with a 54-year-old man, who tested positive on Monday. This takes the COVID-19 death toll in India to 11.
The 54-year-old died at a hospital in Tamil-Nadu in the early hours of Wednesday. He was admitted to the hospital few days ago after developing flu-like symptoms. The man had a medical history of prolonged illness with “uncontrolled diabetes”.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared lockdown across the country to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
