Darjeeling, 17th March: Considering the threat of the Coronavirus worldwide, various measures are being taken to combat it. The impact was also sighted in Darjeeling’s major tourist destinations.
In view of the outbreak of the Coronavirus, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI), the main tourist destination in Darjeeling, has been closed from March 17 until March 31.
As per the information, the Zoo and HMI are one of the major tourist destinations in Darjeeling and everyday a large number of tourists gather in these two sites. Considering this, the announcement of the closure of both the institutions until March 31 was made.
