Cooch Behar, 21st March: An unsettling incident has shaken Cooch Behar following the untimely demise of the security guard of Cooch Behar’s Chief Health Officer. The deceased security guard has been identified as Shyamsundar Narjinary, a resident of Kamakhyaguri in Alipurduar district.
According to police sources, on Wednesday night around 11 PM, a Group D employee heard gunshots from the ground floor of the quarters of the Chief Health Officer adjacent to the Cooch Behar’s Rail Ghumty. Upon reaching the spot, the employee witnessed Shyamsundar Narjinary dead with his service gun. The deceased was found with a gunshot wound to the head indicating the initial assumption that he committed suicide by shooting himself.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased have demanded a thorough investigation into the incident. They refused to agree that Narjinary committed suicide while emphasizing his lack of enmity with anyone. Further, they have urged for a complete investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
