Siliguri, 11th April: The first, second, third, and fourth phase of polling of the assembly election has ended in West Bengal. Meanwhile, like other assembly constituencies, the fifth phase of voting in the Siliguri assembly constituency will be held on April 17. Electioneering is in full swing by candidates of various political party, before the fifth phase of voting.
Reportedly, Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate Om Prakash Mishra, from the Siliguri assembly constituency, campaigned in various areas of Ward No. 05 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation, on Sunday.
During the campaign, he interacted with the local people with the slogan ‘Banglai Darkar, Mamata Sarkar’. He also distributed the party leaflets and approached people to vote in favour of the TMC party on April 17.
Addressing the media, he said that the one who needs to protect the people are exploiting instead and the one who needs to fulfil the constitutional responsibility are attempting to create disorder in Bengal by misleading Central Forces. He further claimed, the incident in the Cooch Behar district was a failure of the Election Commission.
