Congress holds massive rally in Siliguri demanding severe punishment for the culprits of R.G. Kar incident

Siliguri, 14th September: In response to the R.G. Kar incident, the Darjeeling District Congress organized a massive rally in Siliguri on Saturday demanding strict punishment for those responsible. The rally, led by state Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, commenced from Baghajatin Park and traversed various parts of the city before concluding at Air View More.

While addressing the media, Chowdhury criticized the Chief Minister’s presence at the junior doctors’ protest site, asserting that the CM had to surrender to “honesty.” Chowdhury also called for the disbanding of all Patient Welfare Committees across medical colleges and hospitals, taking a jibe at the Chief Minister’s approach to handling the situation.

The Congress leader further stated that from the beginning, he had one demand from the Chief Minister: to engage with those who were protesting. He instigated that as the Chief Minister of Bengal, it was her duty to understand their grievances and sorrow. Instead of addressing their concerns directly, the Chief Minister resorted to deception and tactics. Today, the Chief Minister has been surpassed by the protesters’ determination and honesty. The Chief Minister has surrendered to the people’s anger, fearing their dissatisfaction.
